Our Bodies Our Spirts
|
By Enrico Corsi & Elena Fanfani
The origins of ancient Siamese medicine are still today the object of research and debate. In the past the kingdom of Siam in what is present- day Thailand enjoyed long periods of splendor, and we must assume that independent therapeutic arts were developed during the fertile age. Furthermore, Thailand represents a natural borderline and meeting point between two great civilizations: India and China. Consequently the practice of Thai medicine received the benevolent influence of both Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.

Ever thought twice about crossing the street, trusting a new neighbor, or have you had the sense that something unusual was about to happen? Perhaps, you have read of people who chose not to get on a plane that eventually crashed, because they had a ‘bad feeling’? No Fish Can Escape Mercury Pollution!

New government study shows that mercury in fish widespread! That's the take-home message from a federal study of mercury contamination released last summer that tested fish from nearly 300 streams across the country. The toxic substance was found in every fish sampled, a finding that underscores how widespread mercury pollution has become.
But while all fish had traces of contamination, only about a quarter had mercury levels exceeding what the Environmental Protection Agency says is safe for people eating average amounts of fish.
The study by the U.S. Geological Survey is the most comprehensive look to date at mercury in the nation's streams. From 1998 to 2005, scientists collected and tested more than a thousand fish, including bass, trout and catfish, from 291 streams nationwide.

He enshrined some of those relics near the highest peak of these mountains, which he named after Wutai-shan. He founded the great Woljeong-sa or Moon-Vitality Monastery and Sangwon-sa- or Above the Ordinary Monastery dedicated to Manjusri there.

Courageous Dreaming: How Shamans Dream the World into Being
By Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D.
Whether you realize it or not, we are all dreaming the world into being. What we’re engaging in is not the sleeping dream we’re familiar with, but the waking dream we craft with our eyes open. When we’re unaware that we all share the power to co-create reality with the help of the Universe itself, that power slips away from us and our dream turns into a nightmare. We begin to feel we’re the victims of an unknown and frightening creation that we’re unable to influence or change. Events seem to control us and trap us. The only way to end this dreadful reality is to awaken to the fact that it, too, is a dream, and recognize our ability to write a better story, one that the Universe will work with us to manifest. The nature of the cosmos is such that whatever dream you have about yourself and the world will become reality.

Animalia: Life on our friendly planet
An Australian Love Story
About 11 years ago, a wild Australian Sulphur Crested Cockatoo flew into a car and broke its wing. The motorist took it to the veterinarian in Nerang, Queensland, where they had to amputate the one wing.
After getting an authorization permit from the National Parks and Wildlife, a couple adopted her, where she lived in a cage outside in their garden. She was often visited by other wild cockatoos and happily shared her food with them pushing the lettuce through the cage.
In 2008 she caught the eye of a male admirer, and courtship began and lots of chatting and grooming took place between the bars of the cage.
